Fantasy Premier league week 5
Week 4: 62 points
Total points: 242
Consistency is key in this game, and I am absolutely nailing it on that front. I'm made reference before to wanting to hit an average of 60 points over the course of the season. So far, I am exceeding it by a whopping 0.5 points per week!
It was a pretty solid week of scoring last week, with Saka the net debutant Romelu Lukaku bagging himself 13 points for his pair of goals, 3 bonus points and the appearance points. It's a shame that he wasn't captained, but Bruno bagged me 16 points in his role for his goal, bonus point and appearance points.
Elsewhere there was the expected clean sheets for Ruben Dias, Ederson and Ferran Torres, with the former also banking a bonus point for 7, 6 and 1 points respectively. There was also the hoped for clean sheets for Keiran Tierney and Bukayo Saka, although disappointingly nothing on the attacking front for either. A combined 10 points for the Arsenal men providing a decent return to the fantasy line up.
The rest of the positive scoring was made up by Mac Allister (4), Ings (2) and Wan-Bissaka (2). The big negative, in more than one sense of the word, was Michail Antonio. Transferred in for a favourable ficture against Southampton, one of the star performers of the league so far got himself sent off for two yellow cards, bagging me -1 in the process. Never mind.
There is not too much change in the line up this week, with only Tomas Soucek coming in off the bench to replace the suspended Antonio. There have been no transfers this week. As I mentioned in week 1, one of my main failings in the past has been making too many changes and sacrificing the points in the process, so maintaining consistency in the team and ensuring I build up to the two free transfers is key for me.
There are a lot of favourable match ups in the side this week, With Manchester City's home tie with Southampton looking particularly likely to provide a decent haul. I also am hopeful of big things for the Arsenal duo of Saka and Tierney, with a couple of clean sheets the minimum expectation. It was a toss up between Lukaku and Bruno for the captains armband this week, with big Rom taking it in the end. He's looked unstoppable thus far since his return, and I expect Chelsea to give an injury ravaged Tottenham a thoroughly good going over. I do still expect Bruno to deliver though, as United look to bounce back from their midweek humbling.
Fingers crossed that the consistency continues and who knows, maybe there will be an improvement with the decent matchups for my players this week. As always, we'll check in next Friday and see how we got on.
