Fantasy Premier league week 4

Week 3: 53 points

Total points: 180

It was another solid but unspectacular performance for Saka the net last time out. Top scorer was

again captain Mo Salah with a total of 10 points. The highest non-double point scorers were Aaron

Wan-Bissaka, whose clean sheets and 2 bonus points netted him a whopping 8 in total, and Patrick

Bamford who also scored 8 for his goal and 2 bonus points. Really not a lot else to write home about

apart from that. The expected clean sheets for Ederson and Dias and a goal for Ivan Toney were the

only other notable contributions.

It’s all change this week tough, as the wildcard has been played! It’s almost a tradition for me to play

it three games in now. The transfer window has closed, so any new signings can be added where

necessary, and you kind of have a better idea of how managers are setting themselves up to play

and who fits where. You can also pick up some “cheat code” type players such as Ferran Torres. On

the game he’s a midfielder but plays as a striker in a Man City team where he is scoring plenty of

goals. Those extra points could be valuable.

With that in mind, here’s how we are are lining up this week:

I only made 4 changes with my wildcard. The first of which sees Ferran Torres replace top point

scorer Mo Salah. Although a somewhat risky move, the aforementioned reasons I think provide

justification. I think he may well match Salah in terms of goals this season, especially as City didn.t

get a striker in the end. The move also freed up valuable funds to freshen up a frontline that I think

was the clear weak point of the team.

Ings, Antonio and Lukaku have come in to replace Bamford, Tony and the disappointing Iheanacho.

Ings has started the season much better than expected, with his bicycle kick last time out particularly

outstanding. Lukaku looks like he will be a handful for every defender this season and I expect him to

give Mings and Konsa a tough time on Saturday, and Michail Antonio is a revelation as a striker, and

also finds himself pretty much West Hams only option in the position, so he should get opportunities

and goals.

Elsewhere, Saka and Tierney return to the team for what should be a straightforward tie against

Norwich. I’m hoping for clean sheets and possibly a couple of assists for those two. Dias and Ederson

will likely be ever present this season, so no surprises there. Wan-Bissaka should bank a clean sheet

against Newcastle, and then there is Bruno.

In making the changes, my big conundrum was whether to swap out Fernandes or Salah to generate

the funds. I ultimately stuck with Bruno in a somewhat risky move. Apparently, Manchester United

signed some one else to take all their penalties and miss all their free kicks this season, so it may eat

in to his total, but I think his all round game is strong enough to overcome that. I wouldn’t be

surprised to see a goal and an assist from him this week.

I’m averaging 60 points a week so far, so extrapolate that over the season and we’re looking at a

very competitive 2,280 total. I’ll be hoping for more of the same this week. As always, we’ll be

checking in next week to see how we got on.
